Thoughts of the Day

Thelma postin, to let the fine (and few) readers of RFID know who's ajabberin at them. Now, I reckon, since I'm signed in under our collective name, I could employ the magesterial we and hold forth like ya'll was my court, but I won't, cuz I'm just Thelma, and though there's enough of me to make two or three, I ain't too keen on pretensions.

Some are, though, as I reckon ya know. We (and I ain't referrin to a mouse in my pocket), each and every blessed one of us, gotta deal with folks so stuffed full of themselves it's a wonder they ain't burstin out of themselves.

Pretensions get in the way of dialogues. Right-fightin does, too (and we'll always be indebted to Jeanette for that phrase). Whole lot of this world is involved in makin sure they gets the last word, that they knock down every one else around them and crow their victory. Strut their stuff like it's somethin important and fancy, better than every body else.

We try to be a fair bit transparent here, and we don't delete much. Got us a whole bunch of them fancy ip tracers so folks can see all our visitors, which we sure appreciate each and every one of em. We try to own our mistakes and grow from em, as well.

Sure and I'm using a lot of we's here, but the truth of the matter is that Kathleen, Kim, Louise and I, I think we are all in agreement that we ain't none of us perfect and neither is anyone out there.

We all got issues. Issues is a big word for us here. We use it a lot and we think it covers a whole lot of ground without hurtin no one. Ain't pejorative. If ya read us over at EDHF, ya know we love people of all varieties and write about the folks of Stink Creek and their issues. Well, hell's bells, we even talk about Edna and Willa with a fair amount of exasperated affection. Truth be told, we all need our nemeses. Gives us somethin to push against.

Guess what I'm gettin round to sayin in my long Thelma way is, issues are somethin we ought to take stock of when we're dealin with folks. That they got em. And some of em got issues that means they don't quite know how to let go of things. Ya know what I mean?

Sometimes, folks oughta learn when a thing is best left alone, when it's best to move forward. And sometimes, as we deal with folks, and our issues and their issues get in the way of each other, well, we might be better served to turn our ample asses around and march back the other direction, if ya ken me.

People can surprise ya, though; why lookee here, didn't me, Edna and Willa all work cooperatively to get Luther back to the sisters?
